iFactor partnered with multinational financial services provider Bank of America and global commercial real estate firm Jones Lang LaSalle to renovate its North San Diego co-location. The goal was to create a space that encouraged a culture of collaboration, offering an open and contemporary work environment. The iFactor team led MEP design for the 21,000 SF amenity-rich space.
Taking our MEP design and engineering cues from the Bank of America Space Modernization Playbook, the complete interior fit-out features a cool mix of private and open office work areas, ideation hubs, living room, wellness stations, and café and beverage bars to name a few of the many office conveniences. The design strays from the traditional office layout opting for an airier, team-centric plan.
Signature design elements include the incorporation of cloud ceilings. Ceiling choices traditionally create challenges for MEP engineers to meet architectural vision while maintaining well-ventilated, brightly lit, and sprinkler-protected spaces. For this space, cloud ceilings offer a cool alternative to traditional grid ceilings and provide a glimpse of the exposed MEP systems and provide an acoustic treatment to reduce echo and absorb noise.
Bank of America took occupancy of the bright and beachy space in February 2021.
